Hello Readers! If you are an eCommerce seller, you must have tried to boost your sales volume at different times targeting holiday sales. I just want to discuss a few methods here that can help you to boost your sales volume during festivals and holidays. I have seen many tactical moves in merchandising process, selling methods, and additional facilities on holidays to the customers that can create a significant uprising change in your sales volume. Let’s discuss a few of them:


1.    Choose the right product and Keep the Cross-sale in Mind:

Choosing the right product for merchandising your sale in the holidays is most important. Plan well in advance what to start selling and how much strong demand your product has during a particular holiday. The intellect in choosing the product for the sale does the trick. The utmost necessity of products in holidays or special holidays can play a big boost on the sale. For example, a Christmas tree and accessories are popular products on holidays and weekend sales from 3 months before Christmas. The accessories and gift, packs will boost the holiday sale as cross-sale products.

2. Target your customer and their purchasing time:

It's crucial to select a customer base based on factors like age, sex, religion, and culture in order to understand their holiday needs and purchasing patterns. You know, holiday needs or festive needs are always different for persons according to their social and cultural ethnicity. This helps to pursue the right product for different groups of people and boost moderate sales. In keeping with the nature of the approaching holiday, time is also crucial for placing the sellable product on the rack. There are tactical differences between a regular weekend product, a monthly consumption product on the final weekend of the month, and a festive holiday product. So you must make your decision based on your targeted customer in each sector.

 3.  Sales Pack and Discounts

Sales packs and discounts offered on prices of specific products promote a higher number of sales on holidays. Like if individual units are sold at a discount pack or with less price, it attracts more customers for shopping on holidays or during the festive season. As customers become shopaholics during the holiday seasons, the seller has to create more attractive options to push the sale tactically. Here, the tactics of cross-sale are also important. If the sales packs are made with maximum utility cross-sale products, the chances of increasing sales volume are maximum. Like if the scrubbers are not being sold in an expected quantity, a few of them could be sold with the dishwasher as a pack. Also, you have to set down dishwashers without scrubbers. Hence, scrubbers will be sold with the dishwashers as a mandatory item to be sold tactically!



4.  Add Facilities for Target Customers:

The seller also has to create or improve some more supportive measures with the sale. Faster delivery, quick and responsive customer care, quick exchange, return, etc are a few of the aspects that they can improve. These will create a more shopping-friendly atmosphere. Remember, holiday sales are often targeted with a special purpose. If a gift item or a souvenir is purchased for a particular holiday, you have to make sure that is delivered prior to the date so that the customer can have the time for exchange. Like, if I gift a dress to my mom before mothers’ day, there is always a chance of exchange due to an imperfect fitting so it needs to be delivered at the earliest. Also, holiday products have a huge range. There may be a lot of inquiries, and a lot may sound even meaningless. However, it is the responsibility of a good seller to patiently respond to them and convert them into a sell. The return and exchange policy also has to be easy enough to be understood by customers of all genres.  


5. Special Products :

You have to choose products very wisely. A regular product can be made into a special one by altering its specifications in accordance with the holiday's nature. The sale of very simple products like gift wrappers or ribbons gets a high sale during holidays, occasion dates, and festivals. These could be sold as a cross-sale product with gift items as well. 

If you include products with special features, never--seen-before shapes, numerous features, ease of handling, ease of washing and carrying, and safety, then you'll have the greatest chance of selling them quickly.  During holidays, people want to buy such unique products for gifts or for domestic use. If you could cage a few lots of such products with multiple utilities, you have the maximum chance to hit the high sale.

Apart from all the above-discussed points, I can add a few more things to be aware of. As you know what to do to boost up your holiday sales, you have prepared yourself in advance. The stock of products in advance, discount/combo packs, cross-sale packages, a good team with customer support executives, faster delivery process - everything has to be prepared before the estimated term date. Be careful about your suppliers so that they would fill in your inventory in advance. However, in the case of dropshipping, they are the fastest to deliver.
